CHANDRANATH PEAK, SITAKUNDA




Sitakund is a natural solar landscape in Chittagong. This area is not only a great pilgrimage destination for Hindus but also a great tourist destination. Chandranath mountains to the east of Sitakund and the vast sea to the west.




It is said that one of the kings of Nepal built five Shiva temples in five corners of the world, in the dream. These are the Animal Patinath of Nepal, The Viswanath in Kashi, Bhutnath in Pakistan, Adinath of Maheshkhali and Chandranath Temple in Sitakunde.

Chandranath Is located about four kilometers east of Sitakund Bazar. The Chandranath Temple, located at the highest peak of the hill, is one of the pilgrimage sites of Hindu religious leaders. You can walk or reach the gate below The Chandranath Hill by foot or rickshaw from Sitakund Bazaar. However, on the way to the chandranath hill, you can see the pictures of the hindu religious establishments and the lives of the residents.




The chandranath mountain is about 1152 feet high. It's a little hard to walk, but the speed of the walk will depend on how long it takes to climb the mountain. It will usually take about 1 hour and 30 minutes to get up. In the middle of the Chandranath mountains and near the temple at the top, there are small tong shops, which have light food and worship materials, but it is better to keep up with enough water and some dry food when you wake up.


You will also see some hindu religious establishments on your way to Chandranath Mountain. The area is full of trees, flowers and flowers. Here you can see different fruit gardens including onions, vegetables, mangoes. If you go deep into the mountains, you will see the cultivation of crops on the mountains, called the jumch. You can also see commercially cultivated flower gardens in the deep mountains. Some ethnic communities also live in this area, known as Tripura.
